House of Yes: Choose the Party, Then the Outfit
Bushwick’s performance-led nightclub rewards an event-specific plan: check the party theme, entry window, entrance and sensory conditions before going.

A night at House of Yes starts with the party you choose. The Bushwick venue combines nightlife and performance, and its calendar is more useful than a general description when you are deciding what to wear, when to arrive and which friends to invite.
Start by sending everyone the same event listing. A plan built around one named party is easier to coordinate than a loose agreement to meet at the club sometime after dinner. It also gives you a specific set of ticket instructions to read before spending money.
Read the Ticket Before Picking a Meeting Time
The venue’s FAQ says ordinary release tiers generally provide the same party access; tickets with explicit arrival restrictions are exceptions. Door sales depend on capacity. Dance parties are 21+ unless listed as all ages, and 21+ guests need government-issued photo ID.
Compare the actual entry wording before choosing the cheapest available option. If a ticket requires early arrival, work backward from that deadline: dinner, travel and the group meeting all need to fit. A ticket can be a poor choice for your evening even when its face value is lower. Let each person read the terms rather than summarizing them as “we all have tickets.”
Make the Theme a Shared Decision
House of Yes encourages creative outfits and costumes for its themed parties. Check the official calendar for the particular night, then choose an approach everyone in your group feels comfortable with.
You do not need an elaborate group production to coordinate an outfit. For example, friends could agree on a color or one accessory, while leaving the rest to individual preference. Give the outfit a movement test before leaving home: sit down, reach, walk and check whether a bag or loose piece will get in your way. Those are practical considerations, not a statement of the venue’s dress requirements.
Share the Correct Entrance
The venue is at 2 Wyckoff Avenue, with the main entrance at 408 Jefferson Street. The Onyx Room entrance is at 8 Wyckoff Avenue. Put the entrance for your event in the group message so people do not wait at different doors.
Choose a meeting time that leaves room for someone to be delayed, and decide what happens if the group gets separated. A useful message contains the party name, ticket instructions, entrance and one contact person. Avoid leaving essential information in a long chat thread where a late arrival has to search for it on the sidewalk.
Treat Access and Sensory Needs Individually
The FAQ reports single-level entrances and interiors, stairs to upper stage areas, and arranged reserved seating for physical disabilities. It also describes frequent strobes, low lighting and powerful sound. Contact info@houseofyes.org about needs specific to your visit.
Discuss those conditions before the group commits. An accommodation question should describe what someone needs to participate, rather than asking whether the club is broadly “accessible.” If the environment does not suit a friend, choose a different plan together or make it easy for them to leave without waiting for everyone else. Ear protection is something to consider for loud music; it does not remove lighting sensitivities or settle every access need.
Know the Consent and Photography Rules
House of Yes prohibits dancefloor photography and unwanted contact; guests can approach security or a manager for help. Keep the phone away while dancing and ask before interacting physically with another person.
For group planning, agree that anyone can ask to step away or go home without having to justify it. Check in with a friend if the evening changes from what they expected. A shared plan works better when it leaves each person room to make their own decisions about comfort and participation.
Before You Go
Read the event page and ticket terms again, bring the required ID and map your trip to the correct entrance. Check current MTA service for the return as well as the outward journey. Decide whether the group is traveling home together or separately, and keep enough phone charge to use directions when the night ends.
