Coffee, Beans or a Longer Pause at Café Grumpy Greenpoint

Café Grumpy Greenpoint sits at 193 Meserole Avenue, offering a Greenpoint stop for house-roasted coffee. Whether you’re considering a quick caffeine stop, shopping for beans, or seeking a longer pause with your laptop, the decision comes down to your priorities and a few practical checks.

The shop’s official page notes it opened in 2005 and is adjacent to its own roastery, which may appeal to those interested in locally roasted coffee. The daily hours are listed as 7am–6pm, and the phone number is 718-349-7623.

Coffee to Go: Quick Stops and Takeout

If you’re looking for a fast coffee fix, Café Grumpy Greenpoint’s menu includes house-roasted specialty coffee and tea. The operator also lists pastries, which could suit a morning rush or afternoon pick-me-up. For those on a tight schedule, consider calling ahead to confirm current offerings and wait times, especially during peak hours. If you’re planning to grab coffee before work, double-check the opening time (7am daily) and ask about any seasonal menu changes.

Beans and Merchandise: Shopping for Home

Café Grumpy Greenpoint offers bags of beans and branded mugs, according to the operator’s locations page. If you’re shopping for a gift or want to brew at home, you might want to ask about the roast profiles available that day, as well as whether they offer whole bean or ground options. For those interested in larger quantities or specific blends, it’s wise to call ahead to check availability. If you’re hoping to learn more about the roasting process, ask if staff can share details about the adjacent roastery or recommend a bean for your preferred brewing method.

Longer Pauses: WiFi and Seating Considerations

The official location page lists WiFi as an amenity, which may appeal to those planning to linger. However, WiFi does not guarantee unrestricted laptop use, available outlets, or a particular seating policy. If you’re hoping to work or study, consider asking about current seating etiquette, time limits, and whether outlets are accessible. For group meetings or extended stays, inquire about table sizes and any guidelines during busy periods. It’s also a good idea to confirm the current menu if you plan to stay for lunch or a snack, as offerings may change.

Planning Your Visit: Hours, Contact, and Menu

The shop’s hours are listed as 7am–6pm daily. If you’re planning a visit around holidays or special events, call 718-349-7623 to confirm hours, as schedules can change. For those with dietary restrictions or specific preferences, ask about current pastry selections and beverage options. If you’re meeting friends, check whether the space can accommodate your group and if reservations are possible.
